Gaijin Guitars was founded by Jarrad, a passionate guitarist with over 25 years of experience playing, collecting, and researching guitars from around the world. Jarrad’s guitar journey began in 1999, and in 2006, he received a 1978 Greco EG600 "Ace Frehley" model for his 18th birthday—his first Japanese guitar, which remains a prized possession to this day.

With hands-on experience with countless brands, styles, and vintages, Jarrad decided to turn his passion into a business. His mission: to offer fellow guitar enthusiasts the chance to own some of the rarest and coolest guitars directly from Japan.

We are a father-and-son team—Jarrad and Geraint—who have spent years building trusted connections in Japan through Jarrad’s personal collecting. We believe Japanese-made guitars are not only some of the most unique and visually striking instruments on the planet, but also the absolute coolest.

Each guitar we list is carefully handpicked through our network in Japan. We then perform a thorough quality check and basic setup before listing it for sale. If a guitar isn’t in our possession, it’s not listed on our website.
